The summer is over and now is the time to start marketing your web site for Christmas. For many, the Christmas Holidays are a large percent of thier yearly sales. Whatever marketing you start now, will bear fruit, by December.
It is now a known fact that links, to your web site, is the number one criteria in successful web marketing. If someone tries to dispute it, they are ignorant of the facts - period!
Search engines use back-links as the NUMBER ONE variable in their search algorithms. Links also create visitors, outside the search engines. When people click on links, to your web site, located on other web sites, they are instantly transported to your web site. Those visitors are the best qualified visitors as they are coming from a like-themed web site and know exactly what your web site is all about. Every ranking program on the Internet uses links to a particular web site in their calculations as to how important that web site is, in relationship to other web sites.
Without links, your web site is dead. No one can disagree with this fact. If linking is not the SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT marketing endeavor you work at, then you need to seriously consider if you really want to waste your time in having a web site. If you aren't spending the majority of your webmastering time, trying to get links to your web site, then stop what you are doing and do some research on the web. Go to Google and look at their webmaster guidelines, get a Google account and learn their tools to help you in promoting your web site. Everything is all about links to your web site.
There are many types of links; reciprocal links, one-way links, articles, awards, etc. Don't waste your time with blogs and chats because if they're busy enough to attract a decent amount of traffic, then your link becomes quickly buried.
DO NOT use link farms and other types of unorganized linking. You will be punished by the search engines. Do not buy your links, you will be punished. Google has already taken care of the people that try to use this method of cheating.
You MUST go out and link the old fashioned way, by hard work. There are no easy ways of doing it. The easy solutions don't work and only put money in the pockets of those that promised them. Search engines are way too smart for this. You cannot fool the search engines into thinking that your web site is something it's not.
If you add content and have legitimate, trusted links to that content, you will be successful.
