How can you get low cost holiday travel?

The cost of holiday travel is rising, and it's not even Halloween yet! But in the spirit of giving, we're sharing three tips for saving time and money this holiday season.

1. Choose your travel dates wisely.

- Avoid flying the day before or the day after the holiday.
While convenient, this will be the most expensive option.

- Take longer trips to save on airfare. We've found flights
the Mon. and Tue. before and after can save you up to 35%.

- Look for morning flights on the actual holidays. These are
usually good values, and still get you to dinner on time.

2. Take a little time to do research.

- Shop for fares from alternate airports. Sometimes leaving
out of smaller or regional airports can be less expensive.

many sites at once, without re-entering your itinerary.

3. Don't wait until the last minute.

- Most airlines have already published holiday fares for
November, and will announce December fares shortly.

- If you find a good fare, act fast. Some sales last only a
couple weeks, others just a few days!
